Cyber Operator / Penetration Tester

Northrop Grumman is seeking creative, skilled and motivated CNO/CNE professionals to join our Cyber Assessment Tiger Team to conduct full-scope vulnerability assessment and penetration testing to help find the holes in critical systems and networks before our adversaries can.

This position offers an opportunity for the right candidate help secure Northrop Grumman's intellectual property, networks and sensitive data against a variety of complex threats. The CATT interfaces with our customer program engineers and executives, Strategic Counterintelligence and Intelligence and Response teams to conduct threat-informed risk assessments, full-scope penetration tests including physical, network, RF and social engineering elements and provide reports that will be used at all levels to improve security posture. To succeed, CATT members must be knowledgeable in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.

The successful candidate shall be able to lead and conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments of systems/ networks while actively defeating various security technologies both individually and as part of a larger team. In addition, they will perform information technology security research to remain current on emerging technology trends and develop exploits for disclosed and undisclosed vulnerabilities.

This position requires an average of 33% domestic and international travel.Basic Qualifications:

Proficiency in:

  • Application reverse engineering
  • Layer 2/3 networking protocols
  • Data encoding and cryptography
  • Covert communications
  • Privilege separation and escalation
  • Authentication mechanisms and protocols is essential

Proficiency can be demonstrated through a recognized penetration testing certification that includes a practical assignment such as the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP). All candidates will be required to conduct a mock penetration test and present their findings to a panel in a customer/tester role playing event. This exercise provides the candidate an opportunity to demonstrate and discuss their critical thinking and problem solving approaches, technical knowledge and aptitude, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field with direct course or project work focused on identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities
  • 5 years of Experience
