Contract Administrator 5

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Contract Administrator to support Colorado Springs, CO, programs within Space Surveillance and Environmental Intelligence (SSEI) Operating Unit. Travel is not anticipated.

This position will be responsible for the following:

Position Summary / Responsibilities
Administers, extends, negotiates and terminates standard and nonstandard contracts. Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. Examines estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepares bids; processes specifications, progress, and other reports; advises management of contractual rights and obligations; compiles and analyzes data; and maintains historical information.

Demonstrates skill and ability to analyze and develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Able to communicate effectively at the highest levels. Viewed as expert in field within the corporation.

  • Must be knowledgeable of the Department of Defense contracting environment and have direct experience in FAR and DFARS-based contracts.
  • Must have experience with various contract types, which may include CPFF, CPAF, CPIF, FFP, and T&M.
  • Must have experience using Microsoft Excel to collect, monitor, and display data

Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness. Challenges are frequently unique and solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions.

Works under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated with considerable latitude for independent judgment. Virtually self-supervisory.

Decisions affect the financial, employee, or public relations posture of the organization. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally result in failure to achieve goals critical to the major objectives of the organization.

Serves as prime consultant and external spokesperson for the organization on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 15+ years of related work experience or Master's Degree with 13+ years of related work experience. Related work experience may be in Contracts, Subcontracts, Pricing, and/or Business Management.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a DOD clearance; current DOD clearance preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Team player well suited to a collaborative environment that may be geographically dispersed
  • Ability to work independently, proactively monitor and report task status, and manage prioritization of complex tasks performed for a variety of different stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience developing and implementing process changes that improve efficiency, visibility, and/or productivity
