Contract Administrator 3

Northrop Grumman Navigation and Maritime Systems Division, is seeking a Contracts Administrator 3 to support our Maritime Systems business unit with locations in Linthicum, MD and Charlottesville, VA. The successful candidate will provide advice on a wide range of contractual and business related matters involving interpretation of government regulations and application of company contracts policies and procedures. The position responsibilities are: participate in proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract execution in accordance with company policies, legal and contract requirements. The successful candidate is also responsible for solicitation review/analysis; preparing proposals; advising management of contractual rights and obligations; compiling and analyzing report data; and maintaining historical contract information in support of future division and sector requirements. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast paced environment. Serve as a key Contracts Administrator for Maritime Systems on contractual and business issues by identifying and mitigating risk, planning and executing successful negotiations, constructing favorable contract terms and conditions including appropriate subcontract flow downs, achieving target profit margins and assisting the business in meeting/exceeding its goals and objectives.
Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must minimally meet the following basic qualifications:

  • Contracts Administrator 3: Six years relevant business experience with a Bachelor™s Degree; or Four years relevant business experience with a Master™s Degree, Juris Doctorate or CPCM Certification
  • Must possess leadership qualities and have experience with various contract types including firm fixed price (FFP), cost reimbursable, and time and material contracts
  • Basic working knowledge of the FAR, DFAR and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations
  • Demonstrated experience with highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

We are seeking candidates with the following preferred qualifications:

  • Strong leadership characteristics and direct experience in proposal strategy, pricing, contract formation and contract negotiations
  • Recent experience as a Contracts Professional in the defense industry
  • Proficiency and experience supporting sole source and competitive acquisitions
  • Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS
  • Experience with multiple contract types
  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman businesses, policies and practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills
