Consulting Chief Engineer/ SEIT Lead

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Consulting Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Lead to provide expert systems execution guidance on one or more programs. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's team in Baltimore/ Linthicum, Maryland, an organization focused on development and production of state-of-the-art sensor systems solutions.

The selected candidate will be responsible for a program team of highly skilled systems engineers whose responsibilities may include requirements development and flow down, system architecture, software/hardware/ firmware development oversight, integration and test planning and execution, system verification, and sustainment.

The SEIT Lead will:
  • Own and manage the overall technical baseline of the assigned program(s)
  • Be accountable for budget and schedule for the systems engineering content of the assigned program(s)
  • Serve as the systems engineering team liaison to program management, customers, and functional management of the assigned programs(s)
  • Drive systems engineering process application across the assigned program(s)
  • Manage risks and opportunities for all systems engineering scope Systems engineering content includes, but is not limited to:

  • Stakeholder Analysis

  • System Analysis & Trade Studies
  • Modeling and Simulation
  • System Architecture and Design
  • Specialty Engineering
  • System Security

  • Operation, Maintenance, and Sustainment
  • Configuration Management
  • Cost Engineering
Strong communication and people leadership skills paired with expertise in systems engineering fundamentals are required for this position

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 20 or more years of experience with Bachelors, 18 years with Masters, 15 with PHD
  • Domain expertise in defense electronic systems
  • Deep understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements
  • Experience leading technical teams
  • Experience in systems development, integration, and test
  • Strong systems thinking mindset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of earned value management
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in STEM or technical management
  • Work experience and/or exposure to manufacturing
  • Experience in technical oversight of suppliers
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or SCI
