Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is currently seeking a Configuration/Data Management Specialist to join our team in our Clearfield, UT offices.

Role Description and Responsibilities:

The Configuration /Data Management Specialist is responsible to ensure requirements documents are created and maintained consistently to a high level while working in a fast paced environment and meeting aggressive schedule due dates. Also participates in the coordination and administration of assigned configuration management activities relative to identification, control, and accounting for systems and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements.

Job Duties:

  • Participate in the coordination and administration of assigned configuration management activities relative to identification, control, and accounting for systems, products and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements including:

    • Follows specific set of documentation rules and guidelines to ensure technical content meets internal and customer requirements
    • Manage, review, track, control, record, and release all technical documentation associated with various programs

    • Develop CM and DC processes, plans, procedures, desk-guides, and work instructions

    • Coordinate changes to engineering documents with engineering, quality, support manufacturing, and engineering data control activities. Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and ensures compliance with configuration management policies
    • Performs engineering data control activities which may include: drawing/document review and release, specification preparation and review, administration of government/industry documents, and creation and release of parts and associated parts lists

    • Efficiently planned project documentations, such as engineering drawings, production specifications, parts, reports and plans, to ensure customer contract requirements are met
    • Research and verify technical content as needed

    • Evaluate technical content for cohesiveness and completeness

    • Participate in modifying and enhancing standard work associated with activities and responsibilities described above


Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in configuration and data management
  • Must have Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Proficient skill level working with Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge or demonstrated experience using PLM, ERP, or MRP software
  • Knowledge or demonstrated experience using Electronic Work Instructions (EWI)
  • Ability to understand configuration/engineering requirements to build selloff documents according to customer specifications
  • Candidate must demonstrate understanding of quality functions and requirements, including engineering, drawings, and configuration management
  • Experience with material review board (MRB) processes and handling of product nonconformance
  • Experience with AS9100 requirements, standards, and compliance issues
  • The ideal candidate will also have a basic understanding of PES (lean) and Continuous Improvement
  • Decision making skills based on policy, experience, company heritage business process and customer requirements
  • Be able to understand, dissect, and data mine configuration engineering and as built data
  • Aptitude for learning procedures and making sure work is performed to procedural requirements
  • Adheres to written procedures
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and tight deadlines
  • Ability to recognize off-nominal situations and to speak up
  • Ability to sit/stand for up to 9 hours each day
  • Frequent typing, repetitive wrist motion, up to 8 hours each day
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED required (education will be verified)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience Preferred :
  • CMII certification preferred
  • Working knowledge and understanding of engineering documentation (i.e. models, drawings, specifications, parts, change notices, manufacturing plans, manufacturing procedures)
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat, ePIC, Solumina, and Costpoint is preferred
