Computer Systems Architect 2

Northrop Grumman in Linthicum, MD needs a qualified Computer Systems Architect to perform key assignments for Mission Systems software development programs. This position supports a large heterogeneous unclassified computer
network that includes Linux, Windows and VMware Virtualization with emphasis on supporting software development teams.

Responsibilities include system design and evaluation, hardware/software installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, repair, monitoring, tuning, automation scripting and general user support. Duties will also include maintaining system
documentation, developing infrastructure support procedures, and providing security support.

Basic Qualifications:

BS in Computer Science or other closely related engineering discipline and 2 years of relevant IT Professional experience.
Leads the design, implementation and maintenance of complex systems and networks. Coordinates maintenance activities with other team members and users to produce least impact solutions.
Provides technical leadership to internal and external personnel on highly complex system installation processes.
Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced personnel.
Experience with VMware Virtualization products: vSphere, vCenter Server, Horizon View, vRealize
A working knowledge of Linux platforms authenticating with Windows platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

Implement system automation by using scripting languages like PowerShell, PowerCLI, Ansible, Python, JavaScript
Five or more years of recent and related Linux or Windows Server system administration experience.
Proficiency with RedHat operating system
Proficiency with Windows Server.
Experience with database administration (MySQL, Postgres, MSSQL, MongoDB)
Experience with setting up & administering Storage Area Networks in an iSCSI network within a mixed platform of
Windows, Linux, and ESXi. Preferred hardware is EqualLogic arrays.
Understanding of Networking technologies including:
o Port security
o VLANs, VLAN trunking, Link Aggregation (LACP), spanning tree
o Layer 3 Routing, CIDR subnetting
o Switch clustering (virtual chassis)
o Software Defined Networking & Micro-segmentation
o Understanding of VXLAN and logical networking concepts
CompTIA Security+
Superior written and oral communication skills
Ability to work flex and overtime hours with some weekend hours expected.
Experience with Agile Scrum Methodology
Experience with setting up & administering a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server.
Familiarity with Cisco and Juniper hardware and operating systems would be a plus.
