Computer Systems Analyst 4
Provide System Administration support for classified programs
Recommends and implements system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management. Apply technical skills and experience in managing selected Linux, Unix, and Solaris servers and numerous workstations supporting highly skilled engineers. Support and develop tools, scripting, and SCAP executable designed to analyze systems and report on security mandated hardening requirements
Designs, tests, and implements state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products. Conducts risk assessments and provide recommendations for application design. Analyzes internal or external customer needs and determines equipment/software requirements for solutions to problems by means of automated systems. Develops and documents technical processes and procedures as needed. Recommends and implements system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration. Develop and document technical processes and procedures, as needed. Ensures systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with internal security policies and practices outlined in the security plan.
Required experience with the following:
Red Hat Linux (5 Years)
VMware (2 Years)
HP-UX (5 years)
Solaris (5 years)
AIX (5 years)
HP NSK (5 years)
IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM)
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience in a technical position supporting server environments. An additional 4 years of directly applicable experience may considered in lieu of the completed degree.
6 years of combined experience with Linux System Administration
Troubleshooting and problem solving skills with little supervision
VMware virtualization experience
Strong communication, written and verbal skills
Must be able to meet and maintain DoD 8570 requirements
Active Secret required (re-investigation within 5years) and the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance having periodic review within last 5 years
- Cross-platform experience (i.e., 3 or more: Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX, etc.)
- Working knowledge of storage technologies such as storage area network or network-attached storage
- Certification in related OS (MS Windows)
