Computer Systems Analyst 2/3 - Linux Sys Admin

Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services is seeking a Linux/Unix Computer Systems Analyst to join our dynamic team of technical professionals at our Bethpage, NY location.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, test and implement secure Linux (Redhat) servers utilizing STIGs.
  • Experience with compliance tools (ACAS/Nessus/SCAP Compliance Checker, STIG viewer) and the ability to implement security controls.
  • Experience with RMF/JSIG or NISPOM Information System compliance requirements.
  • Solid understanding of patching, upgrades and configuration management to remove or protect from vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux integration.
  • Working knowledge of VMware.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Windows server and desktop.
  • Develop customized solutions to customer/user requirements. Ensure hardware and software compatibility and project computer capacity and capabilities.
  • Provide day to day support for development staff.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

ESCSOThis requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.

Basic Qualifications for a level 2:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical position supporting client/server computing environments or 6 years of experience in a technical position supporting client/server computing environments.
  • Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining client and server hardware and associated equipment (e.g. file servers, DNS, NTP, print servers, etc.).
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Current Security CE certification.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.
  • DoD Secret Clearance required.
  • Travel may be required.

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical position supporting client/server computing environments or 9 years of experience in a technical position supporting client/server computing environments.
  • Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining client and server hardware and associated equipment (e.g. file servers, DNS, NTP, print servers, etc.).
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Current Security CE certification.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.
  • DoD Secret Clearance required.
  • Travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of basic networking.
  • Cisco experience/certification.
  • Cross-platform experience (i.e., 3 or more: Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX, etc.).
  • Windows VMWare, LDAP, and AD experience and knowledge of TSM storage systems.
  • Creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with A&A (Assessment and Authorization) process.
  • DoD 8570/8140 Certification in primary OS (Linux).
  • Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
