Northrop Grumman Technology Services Sector is currently seeking a Computer Engineering Operations Manager 2 to join our growing team of diverse professionals at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position is for a supervisory manager of the Computer Operations Group located at the Weapons System Support Center (WSSC) - a state of the art avionics and weapons SW laboratory supporting military aircraft.

The Computer Operations Group is a newly formed group and will work closely with the IT Systems Engineering Group (also located in the WSSC). The Computer Operations group is primarily a service organization providing Tier 1 and 2 support in the following areas: desktop system administration, SW installation and license tracking, customer help desk support, account management, and JSIG security implementation.


  • Supervises a direct staff of ~10 employees
  • Administers and oversees assigned projects and service areas.
  • Establishes cost & schedule milestones.
  • Ensures program objectives / deliverables are met.
  • Reviews, creates, and supports proposals as required.
  • Works with Government and Northrop Grumman security personnel to plan, perform, and ensure systems and group compliance with security protocols and rules.
  • Implements ITIL best practices.
  • Defines & maintains KPI metrics.
  • Provides leadership & guidance to team members.
  • Continually identifies & develops key technical skill areas.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have one of the following:
    • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science (CS), Management of Information Systems (MIS), or related field with a minimum of 9 years of experience
    • A Master's degree in Engineering, CS, MIS, or related field with a minimum of 7 years of experience
    • A PhD in Engineering, CS, MIS, or related field with a minimum of 4 years of experience
  • Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance, or an inactive clearance (last active within the past 2 years)
  • Must be able to work on-site at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain additional programclearances

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA Security+ CE credential
  • Experience with enterprise service desk management SW (e.g. JIRA, Remedy, etc).
  • Technical skill in computing / Information Technology areas
  • Project management proficiency
