Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Propulsion Division is looking for a Composite Case Design and Analysis (Casual/Temp) Engineer to join our team at the Promontory or Bacchus (Magna), UT facility.
Role description & Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for providing expert level structural analysis of rocket motor cases and associated hardware using NG standard analysis techniques and methods.
Job Duties:
- Candidate will provide structural analysis of composite structures, specifically filament wound cases for flight, handling and transportation loading events
- Candidate will develop 2D and 3D finite element analysis models that utilize in-house codes (Casebuilder and FEMbuilder) using ABAQUS as the solver
- Candidate will provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced engineers
- Candidate will develop training materials for Casebulder and FEMbuilder as it pertains to composite case analysis
- Candidate must have a minimum of 25+ years of experience in aerospace structural design and analysis techniques.
- Candidate must have strong understanding of NG analysis techniques of composite cases including failure modes of composite, viscoelastic and metallic structures.
- Candidate must perform 2D and 3D structural analysis for the design of flight hardware and test articles using Siemens NX CAD software and ABAQUS/CAE.
- Candidate must have experience in documenting technical analysis results in memorandums, reports and presentations.
- Candidate must be an individual contributor that can assist in resolving MRB issues, design changes, improvements and optimizations with no additional support.
Salary Range: $65,000 USD - $150,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
