Competitive Assessment & Position To Win Analyst Level 2/3

Northrop Grumman is looking to hire a Competitive Assessment and Position to Win (PTW) Analyst Level 2/3. You will join the NGTS Global Cost & Competitive Strategies team and be responsible for developing and executing analyses for the sector's Position to Win organization that result in increased probability of win for new business pursuits. This position is located in Herndon, VA.

This position will be responsible for corporate, sector, and division priority win projects critical to the company's growth. A client-based' service model is used with stakeholders (Divisions, Mission Assurance, Engineering, Operations) to understand key strategic drivers to business success, develop options to optimize NGTS' competitive position and enhance the probability of meeting the sector's longer term goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading high priority PTW activities across a wide spectrum of business pursuits
  • Performing analyses to include life cycle cost modeling, geographic positioning and portfolio analyses against known and derived strategic and technical approaches of competitors
  • Working independently to plan and lead activities such as competitive assessment, funding analysis, top down analysis, bottom up analysis, and support design-to-cost target allocations
  • Preparing business trend analysis, rate predictions, and optimization of life cycle cost across multiple systems
  • Supporting, preparing, and presenting to high level executives within the company, including Corporate Executives, Sector Executive Leadership, capture and program managers
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled at either a level2 or a level 3.

Basic Qualificationsfor a Level2 are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or STEM or business related discipline (e.g. economics, cost engineering) and 3 years of related experience or a Master's degree in one of the disciplines above and 1 year of related experience or an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Powerpoint
  • Exceptionally strong skills with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience managing multiple projects
  • Customer relationship management with both internal and external customers solving complex project and analytical problems
  • Aptitude for open ended data mining and experience using data analytics to infer outcomes
  • Experience with parametric analysis and cost estimating relationships

  • Understanding of corporate finance, pricing and contracts
  • Ability to convey complex information in a succinct manner
  • Experience with multiple platforms and domains within aerospace and defense industry
