Northrop Grumman is seeking a Chief Engineer for the SEMA CLS Program, supervising the technical sustainment a large fleet of US Army fixed wing ISR aircraft with multiple operational support centers. Assures engineering standards, policies, and procedures are in accordance with industry best practices, ensuring that technical programs meet or exceed program, OEM and US Army requirements. Leads the Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) IPT. Has definitive technical authority for all aspects of engineering. Leads a multi-disciplined engineering team managing the technical performance of the program. Coordinates requirements reliability engineering, development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities. Ensures program adheres to sound engineering processes. Maintains cognizance over technical activities within program IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices. Directs the daily activities of the core sustainment engineering team and technically reviews all alteration and non-standard repair projects. Serves as the leading structural engineering representative for all air worthiness reviews and approvals for program, aircraft. Ensures the technical team fully supports fleet availability standards while fully responding to fleet service bulletins, requests for non-standard repairs and requests for engineering changes to include alterations and modernization programs. Integrates information assurance and cyber security standards into projects, ensuring that aircraft ATO's are maintained prior to returning to service.
This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.
This position is contingent upon proposal/task award.
- BS in engineering or related field with 9 years of related experience
- FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) Structural Engineer with rating for Major Alterations
- Experience directly managing technical personnel
- Experience with US Government Airworthiness Release (AWR) process
- Active DoD Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI
- Ability to travel to operational sites both CONUS and OCONUS
- DoD Top Secret/SCI Clearance
