Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Business Manager 2 for the growing Tac Air Operating Unit headquartered in Clearfield, Utah and adjacent to Hill Air Force Base. The position is co-located with the Business Unit (BU) Vice President and his local Management team.

TAC AIR is a growing OU containing a portfolio of multiple aircraft and sustaining contracts with both domestic and international military customers. The chosen candidate will be responsible for all OU Business operations and supervision of eight local and offsite finance team members.


  • Provides direction to and actively assists subordinates
  • Makes decisions relating to accomplishment of daily work responsibilities and setting/managing priorities
  • Oversees and participates in establishment of cost control systems and integrated master schedules on multiple types of contracts
  • Includes cost, schedule and technical performance of several programs with full and light earned value requirements
  • Prepares and/or reviews estimates at complete and integrated master schedules for contract work and performs financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales forecast, risks and variance analysis
  • Monitors and incorporates contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines
  • Prepares and analyzes cash flow forecasts for multiple programs
  • Participates in or leads proposal preparation and execution
  • Reviews and approves expense reports, travel authorizations, intercompany work orders, etc.
  • Supports program management reviews, customer integrated baseline reviews and audits (external and internal)
  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external customers


Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have one of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of related experience
    • Master's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Full working knowledge of accounting and finance principles and earned value management systems (EVMS)
  • Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
  • Must be able to work on-site in Clearfield, Utah
  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Intermediate to advanced level Excel user
  • Proven capability to work across cross-functional teams, a high level of confidence, integrity and hands on approach to problem solving, as well as experience in interacting with technical leads, senior management, and executives internal to the company.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as analytical, planning, and presentation skills
  • Experience with SAP, MPM, wInsight, Microsoft Project, Precision
  • International business and proposal experience
  • Proposal planning, strategy, and support experience
