Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Building Management Systems Engineer 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

Responsible for programming, assisting in commissioning, and troubleshooting Building Control and Facility Management Systems per plans and specifications. Provides detailed information to communicate design to field installation team and subcontractors as needed. Oversees site BMS systems and serves as the technical resource for HVAC maintenance team. Administers BMS service contracts and directs vendors as required.
Performs assistive programming, documenting, training and maintaining systems involving networks, system integration, open technologies, software based interfaces, HVAC controls, and other facility/infrastructure management systems. Experience with systems that involve advanced solutions such as Tridium and Staefa products, BACnet, Modbus and other open technologies for building automation/integration solutions is necessary. Expected to be able to work with programs, graphical user interfaces, and commission building automation systems.
Troubleshoots system problems, works with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
Performs static (standalone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) software programming independently.
Configures work stations and all required software for site BMS.
Assists project management teams with new construction review and requirements.
Communicates effectively with facilities management, contractors, and NG employees as required.
Provides training to central plant operators and HVAC technicians.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience in programming, commissioning and troubleshooting Building Control and Facility Management Systems per plans and specifications. OR
- Masters Degree in STEM and 3 years of experience in programming, commissioning and troubleshooting Building Control and Facility Management Systems per plans and specifications.
- Must have Niagra 4 Tridium AX certification.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Staefa programming experience.
