Bonds a variety of dissimilar materials (composite, metal, or laminate) assemblies, parts, skins, components, equipment or structures into semi-finished or finished products. Lays out articles, cuts parts or materials to size. Applies liquid or solid bonding agents. Operates autoclave, hydraulic presses and ovens to complete bonding cycle. Controls conditions of heat, pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agent being used. Sands, burrs and smoothes over areas, apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges. Monitors and verifies quality of finished product. Completes repairs on composite, metal or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions. Verifies quality of finished product.

Basic Qualifications:
Level 2:
High School Diploma/GED and minimum of 2 years composites experience in an aerospace environment or a manufacturing/maintenance environment. Additionally, the job requires the ability to perform moderately strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, working overhead, and ability to be certified for a half & full face respirator. Must be able to access small confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment. Candidates must be willing to work any shift or work schedule. Multiple programs available, candidates must be willing to work at either Palmdale or Mojave site. Some positions will require an enhanced security clearance and/or program access prior to beginning work.
Level 3:
High School Diploma/GED and minimum of 5 years composites experience in an aerospace environment or a manufacturing/maintenance environment. Must be able to read and interpret blue prints, work orders, and schematics. Additionally, the job requires the ability to perform moderately strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, working overhead, and ability to be certified for a half & full face respirator. Must be able to access small confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment. Candidates must be willing to work any shift or work schedule. Multiple programs available, candidates must be willing to work at either Palmdale or Mojave site. Some positions will require an enhanced security clearance and/or program access prior to beginning work.

Active DOD secret clearance.
