BMD I-Sim Software Architect 4

Software Digital and Technology is seeking a Senior Software Architect to support the Ballistic Missile Defense International Simulation (BMD I-Sim) product line of the DE Task Order on the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) program. The job location is at Schriever AFB, CO.

As a senior software architect on the BMD I-Sim team, the Candidate will help define the product vision, work collaboratively with team members, government customers, and product end users. leadership will help the product realize that vision, shape the development environment and process, lead design and implementation activities, influence and sculpt the software architecture, support the product through Wargames and Exercises, events, and training, and mentor other team members.

Primary responsibilities include architecting, designing and developing software to model various BMDS elements capabilities. Candidate will be responsible for leading the SW development effort. Candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development of simulation and software architectures. Additional responsibilities could include interfacing with BMD I-Sim customers and presenting technical briefings to BMD I-Sim stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Position requires active DoD Secret clearance
  • 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with Ph.D.
  • Experience in all phases of software development, including analysis, design, code, test, and integration
  • Experience Leading a software engineering team
  • Experience in design skills should include the use of UML (Enterprise Architect or Rational Rose)
  • Experience in developing software in C++, C# and/or Java
  • Have a strong understanding of object-oriented software development, and have a strong understanding of Windows

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in engineering M&S systems using an optimistic and/or conservative discrete event simulation platform
  • Experience in agile software development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
  • Knowledge/experience in several of the following:
    • missile defense domain knowledge, command and control, and modeling and simulation development
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment and possess strong written and verbal communication skills
