Behavioral Research Scientist 3/4

Northrop Grumman's Learning and Communications Solutions (LCS) group is made up of a diverse talent pool of instructional designers, educational psychologists, software engineers, multimedia developers, UX designers, artists, writers, and creative professionals that creates conceptual design solutions for training and performance support. We are looking for a cognitive psychologist or statistician to aid in training development and research. The desired individual will have experience both in cognitive psychology theory and application, as well as a background in statistical data analysis methodologies and methods. This position will be located at our LCS office in Albuquerque, NM.

Roles and Responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute needed skills to ongoing projects related to cognitive psychology and biometrics
  • Design psychological research and conducting statistical analysis
  • Collect, review, and summarize both technical and scholarly research material
  • Contribute to the development and writing of technical material

Minimum Qualifications

  • This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4. Basic Qualifications for a Behavioral Research Scientist 3 are 6 years with a Bachelor's Degree. Basic Qualifications for a Behavioral Research Scientist 4 are 9 year with a Bachelors Degree.
  • Strong understanding of psychological factors related to cognition, memory, and learning
  • Knowledge and experience in developing analysis and reporting statistical programming deliverables (datasets, statistical analyses, report tables, and graphics)
  • Experience working with biometric sensors or developing research with biometrics
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to rapidly develop a diverse skillset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using a statistical programming language such as R or Matlab
  • Masters or Doctorate in cognitive psychology, statistics, mathematics, or computer science
