Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Automation Tester Engineer 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Woodlawn, MD. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Health Systems Management operating unit which focuses on Healthcare IT solutions for our Federal, State, and Local government clients.

Automation Test Engineers with extensive work experience is required in defining and rolling out automation frameworks in support of a large Agile transformation effort. The primary goal of the position will be to establish achieve a full automation of both unit test scripts and functional regression test scripts. The qualified candidate will also be responsible for the architecture, design, development and maintenance of the test automation systems. They should possess a big picture mindset and be able to provide guidance and leadership to other test automation engineers in an agile environment.

Job responsibilities/duties:

  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction to the Testing team and Organization
  • Architecting, developing, and maintain an innovative test automation system for the organization
  • Define automated test criteria, designs & develops the organization's Test Automation framework and develops automated tests for all functionality that meets specified automation criteria
  • Works closely with the application architects to develop a solid testing solution, working towards the future state of the application architecture
  • Leads complex test automation efforts using Cucumber/Selenium and Java for large Agile software projects and identifies innovative solutions to solve complex test problems
  • Works collaboratively in a team-based Agile environment with other technical staff and business owners and subject matter experts, that follow the industry standard Scrum and SAFe methodologies.
  • Assists in the training/mentoring of team members, including testers, developers, and business analysts and implements organization-wide Quality Process initiatives to ensure Quality of deliverables
  • Communicates automation goals, priorities, and status across the organization
  • Partner with Agile Release Train to plan for new functionality, resolve defects, and incorporate error injection test methodologies
  • Become knowledgeable on the HIPAA policies and procedures for the program and ensure awareness of HIPAA breach process. Understand your role in HIPAA compliance and be able to execute that role in an effective manner.
Basic Qualifications for an Automation Test Engineer 2
Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline and2 years of applied work experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with automation testing, developing and executing automated test scripts using Automated Testing Tools (such as Quick Test Pro, Selenium, Cucumber, Windmill, Ranorex etc.)
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands on experience using Selenium or Cucumber
  • Minimum of 1year of experience architecting, developing, and maintaining an innovative test automation environment including automation test framework design and development
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with agile development (preferably SAFe), test driven development, advanced concepts of scrum, and knowledge of agile project tools, such as VersionOne
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in analyzing metrics, identify dysfunctions, and make recommendations to senior management
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card holder) is required in order to obtain and maintain required Position of Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these skills will be given preferential consideration.
  • Experience with Cloud based implementation and transition to the Cloud including virtualization
  • Experience in analyzing metrics, identify dysfunctions, and make recommendations to senior management
  • Strong understanding of Java/J2EE concepts, object oriented design and development
  • Demonstrable knowledge of advanced concepts of scrum, Kanban, XP, and Waterfall
  • Good understanding of QA methodology and strong hands on' experience developing test scripts for functional, performance, and regression testing that include automated, ad-hoc, and manual testing elements
  • Experience with source code revision control systems GIT and SVN
  • Experience with MEAN stack
  • Tools and technologies such as: WebSphere, RDBMS: Oracle, DB2, Java, SQL, Eclipse, RAD, Fortify, ALM/QTP, Junit, Selenium, Git, Jenkins, Gulp, Jsdoc, Gerrit, Jslint, Karma, and Jasmine, MySQL, Node.js
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Visio, and SharePoint
  • Excellent team building skills, including cross-functional team building
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis
