Automated Autoclave Operator

Sets up and operates to full capacity with direction from a supervisor or lead man, automated autoclaves and related subsystems to perform graphite bonding operations of aircraft panels, metallic, nonmetallic flat, contoured and honeycomb parts and assemblies. Monitors automated gas accumulator bleed-offs and cooling tower water levels, and performs other related duties consistent with the level of difficulty described above. Participates in loading and unloading of autoclave. connects thermocouples, vacuum lines and arranges proper placement of parts and tools on racks and inside autoclave; operates fork-lift; checks for and corrects with some directions, any leaks in vacuum bags, hoses, and/or equipment and verifies proper vacuum bag installation and general condition prior to closing autoclave door; closes powered interlocking doors and monitors all instruments, switches and recorders during pressurization, heat-up bonding cycle, cool down and depressurization. Must possess proper certification as required by the company to operate the autoclave. Observes safety regulations relative to all phases of autoclave operation; recognizes and identifies equipment malfunctions, taking prompt corrective measures or notifying supervision and/or maintenance. Performs satisfactorily the preparation of parts for bagging and cure in autoclave ovens including application of bleeder cloth, thermocouples, probes, vacuum connection, checks seals on bagged parts for leaks etc. Maintains autoclave check list and log. Suggest methods or procedures for improved operations to supervision and/or liaison personnel.

Basic Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of autoclave operations experience.

Must be willing to work any shift or work schedule
