Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Electronics Engineer or an Electronics Engineer to join our Mission Systems sector site in Apopka, FL.

What You'll Get To Do:

You will have opportunities to support the design, integration, test, and production of laser and electro-optical systems for handheld, ground, and airborne products. The successful candidate will possess design, integration, testing and troubleshooting experience of electronic hardware with:
  • Low power architectures for FPGAs and embedded micro-controllers
  • Power conversion and distribution
  • Electro-optic sensor interfaces
  • Inertial measurement sensor Interfaces
  • Distributed network systems
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Generating design requirements and test documentation
  • Circuit design, integration, test and troubleshooting
  • Generating detailed electronic schematics, CCA drawings, and bill of materials (BOMs) for electronic designs
  • Programming FPGAs and micro-controllers
  • Implementation and test of image/signal processing algorithms
  • Debug, test, and integration of CCAs in complex electro-optic systems
  • EMI / EMC design and testing
  • Generate engineering change notices (ECN), update models / drawings, and release of appropriate documentation and entering documentation into Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) databases
  • Performing root cause corrective action (RCCA)
  • The candidate must be able to work independently as a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must also be capable of performing successfully in a fast-paced, work environment.

Basic Qualifications for Associate Electronics Engineer:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM discipline and a minimum of 6 months of relevant experience in electronics design/testing
  • Circuit design, integration, testing and troubleshooting
  • Experience writing VHDL source / testbench code and simulation for programmable logic devices (or desire to learn/specialize in)
  • US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Basic Qualifications for Electronics Engineer:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM discipline and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in electronics design/testing or a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM discipline
  • Circuit design, integration, testing and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience writing VHDL source / testbench code and simulation for programmable logic devices (or desire to learn/specialize in)
  • US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering is preferred
  • Experience writing design requirements and test documentation for CCAs and/or programmable logic code (VHDL) designs
  • Mixed-signal, analog, power supply, and digital circuit design, simulation and testing experience
  • Experience with Microchip and Xilinx (AMD) FPGAs and design tool suites
  • Integration of complex lasers, optical-mechanical prototypes, and inertial measurement sensor
  • EMI / EMC design and test experience in accordance with MIL-STD-461
  • Experience with military vehicle and aircraft standards and specifications
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) applications
  • Experience with Cadence Concept Schematic Capture and Cadence Allegro Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Layout
  • Communication interfaces and protocols experience (USB, Ethernet, TIA/EIA-232 / 422 / 485, I2c, SPI, UART, and MIL-STD-1553)
  • Experience performing electrical circuit analysis and using simulation software tools such as PSPICE, LTspice, or similar
  • Experience performing electrical component selection and part obsolescence BOM reviews
  • Experience with hand soldering, assembling, and repairing wire harnesses and other electronic assemblies
Salary Range: $60,600 USD - $91,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $73,400 USD - $110,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
