Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Apprentice Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located at Annapolis Junction, MD.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Apprentice Engineer needed with experience in the development, engineering, interfacing and integration of hardware and software systems to include an understanding of requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, concepts of operation, interface standards, and system architectures.
Understanding of Object Oriented and Structured development methodologies and languages.
Developing documentation required to support a program's technical issues and training situations.
Ability to work, ask for help and learn with little supervision.

Basic Qualifications:
Knowledge of JSON, XML and Maven
2 years of experience with Java (or any other Object Oriented) programming language
Familiarity with development in the Linux environment.
Experience using Eclipse as IDE.
Familiarity with ticketing systems (JIRA, Redmine, Bugzilla, any)

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using open source Java frameworks (Spring, Camel, SLF4J)
Experience with Tomcat, JMS, JUnit, RPM,
Experience with Spring Boot
Understanding of RPM packaging
