Performs development of technical airworthiness planning and verification support including development of airworthiness approach, plans, basis of certifications, means of compliance, and certification activities for complex total systems. Achieves the logical and systematic realization of customer airworthiness compliance (MIL-HDBK-516 and international standards) into system solutions to meet program objectives (e.g. flight releases, type certification, continued airworthiness, and operational or airspace Integration). Reviews and coordinates with other airworthiness engineers, as well as with internal engineering disciplines at all levels of total system to include: design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Reviews functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, interface definition and hardware and software specifications for airworthiness compliance to the appropriate regulations, standards and/or guidelines. Manages airworthiness activities throughout the development, sustainment and disposal lifecycles.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited universitywith a minimum of9 years' experienceon manned or unmanned aircraft systems or a Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) disciplinefrom an accredited university with a minimum of 7 years' experience on manned or unmanned aircraft systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
DoD or FAA/EASA Airworthiness Experience
Experience with flight certification and flight clearancesa plus
Significant direct customer interaction experience
Mentoring and leading teams of engineers
System safety, and airworthiness processes and regulations experience
Leading process improvement initiatives
Strong Data Management Experience
Strong communication skills
Demonstrated self starter
Ability to work independently
