Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking an experienced Aircraft Structures Technician to support aircraft modifications on at our Lake Charles site, and other domestic, and foreign locations as required.
Job Description
Perform a variety of operations and become part of a small team of mechanics in order to complete the tasking assigned. Work is done in accordance with established procedures. Interpret complicated schematics/blueprints, engineering drawings and technical instructions to safely perform sheet metal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft. Performing part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming. Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and locations to be attached. Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Work as part of a team and coordinate with each other, supervision, engineering, and Inspection to ensure compliance with installation drawings for internal sign-offs and quality specifications.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least 4 years of related aircraft structures experience
- Ability to be subject to areas which could cause various phobias due to height or closed spaces
- Able to wear respirator or other safety gear
- Ability to be subject to both external and internal environmental conditions
- Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours
- Ability to be subject to a variety of physical conditions
