Plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs both internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces for aircraft modification in accordance with technical manuals, engineering drawings, and FAA regulations.
Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production
assembly operations on mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as panels, ' frames, off aircraft parts and new production. Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools and jigs. Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed. May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications. May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 4 years of related experience
- Able to prioritize and adjust tasks simultaneously to accomplish the project result
- Ability to make decisions which have impact on the organization's credibility, operations and services
- Ability to be subject to both external and internal environmental conditions
- Ability to be subject to a variety of physical & atmospheric conditions
- Able to wear respirator or other safety gear
- Ability to be subject to areas which could cause various phobias due to height or closed space
- At least 6 years' experience in aviation sheet metal structures with a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
