Aircraft Mechanic-Environmental Control Systems (ECS)

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic-Environmental Control System (ECS) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
The selected candidate will have be responsible for the layout, assembly, installation, and rework of aircraft Environmental Control System (ECS) and hydraulic parts, assemblies including necessary incidental fabrication of pre-production, development or production aircraft.
This position is located in El Segundo, CA.
In this role, the selected candidate will be expected to:

  • Determine methods and sequence of ECS and hydraulic system assembly, installation, repair, rework, and modification operations on pre-production aircraft.
  • Lays out, locates, assembles, installs, checks out, and reworks intricate ECS lines, hydraulic, fuel, or plumbing units and lines. Work to exacting tolerances.
  • Complete any or all ECS, hydraulic, fuel, or plumbing rework, squawks, EO's and part shortages, make or conduct high pressure checks of completely installed ECS immediately prior to operational checkout, make or conduct high pressure checks of completely installed hydraulic, fuel, or plumbing system immediately prior to operational check-out. This includes operating test stand, installing hydraulic fluid, applying pressure, eliminating leaks, and making necessary repairs and adjustments.
  • Works from all types of complex blueprints, E.O.'s and production illustrations; is often required to work without adequate tooling or on jobs where engineering and tooling information is incomplete.
  • May be required to work in other fields incidental to, and in connection with, completion of installation of a major plumbing system.
  • Install, hook up, and adjust such items as turbines, heat exchangers, valves, cylinders, struts, pumps, instruments, and lines.
  • May work with the assistance of lower classified employees; may assist higher classified workers on occasion. Direct and train other employees as assigned.
  • Perform work of the level described herein, and interpret complex blueprints and use arithmetic involving decimals and fractions.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Must be able to utilize computer based systems to perform duties.
  • May be required to work in confined space.
  • Maintained required certifications and qualifications on area of specialization.
  • Must be willing/able to work any shift or schedule .


Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED
Must have 3 1/2 years Environmental Control Systems experience.
Must be able to utilize computer based systems to perform duties.
Must be willing/able to work any shift or schedule.
