Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Systems Engineer 5 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach. This position reports to the Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis IPT. Candidate will lead the development and integration of the AFSIM sensors, schedulers, and resources managers. Develop operational analysis models, methods, and simulations capabilities to represent advanced concepts and technologies. Capabilities to support military requirements analysis, threat system analysis, system survivability analysis, mission performance/effectiveness analysis, force level effectiveness analysis, and military utility. Candidate should have strong problem solving skills, be highly motivated to perform and grow, and possess a strong work ethic. Proficiency in technical understanding of AFSIM. A high level of proficiency in AFSIM development and analysis. Experience developing AFSIM Plug-ins. A high level of proficiency in MATLAB, C/C++, and Python.


Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline from an ABET accredited university with 14+ years of engineering experience in aerospace/defense OR 12+ years with a STEM Masters OR 9+ years with a STEM PhD
- Minimum 2 years AFSIM development Experience
- Minimum of 9 years' experience in operational analysis and/or modeling and simulation
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with full Investigation within the last 6 years and the ability to gain additional SAP clearances

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Operations Research, Mathematics, or Computer Science. Master' degree can be substituted as 2 years of experience.
- Knowledge/experience in modeling/analysis of technologies to include: electronic warfare, radar, IR/EO sensor, weapons, non-kinetic effects, LO, communications. Knowledge/experience with LO route planning tools.
- Experience in developing or translating concept of operations in the model behaviors.
- Active SCI clearance
