AFSIM Architecture Lead, Modeling and Simulation - Systems Engineer 4

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Systems Engineer4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach. This position reports to the Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis IPT. Candidate will lead the development of the AFSIM Analytical Framework tools, processes, and infrastructure requirements. Supports the planning and implementation of the modeling and simulation architecture, to synchronize constructive and virtual simulation framework development activities. Ensures a high level of re-use and standardization across simulation architecture. Collaborates across disciplines to create simulation environment that can be used to support engineering and sub-system modeling, and integrate with future software/hardware integration labs. Candidate will have depth and breadth in AFSIM modeling, with experience developing AFSIM Plug-ins, and a high level of proficiency in MATLAB, C/C++, and Python.
Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline from an ABET accredited university with 9+ years of engineering experience in aerospace/defense OR 7+ years with a STEM Masters OR 4+ years with a STEM PhD
- Experience leading a team of developers or analysts
- A minimum of 4 years of experience with AFSIM
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with full Investigation within the last 6 years and the ability to gain additional SAP clearances

Preferred Qualifications:

- MS degree in an engineering discipline, physics, operations research, mathematics, or computer science
- Knowledge/experience in government models to include Brawler or Suppressor.
- Knowledge of virtual simulation modeling and environment
- Knowledge/experience in modeling/analysis of technologies to include: electronic warfare, radar, IR/EO sensor, weapons, non-kinetic effects, LO, communications. Knowledge/experience of LO route planning tools.
- Mission Engineering, System Engineering/DoDAF experience
- Active SCI clearance
