Maintenance Tech III

  • Attends other company Department meetings and provides appropriate communication regarding work assignments, progress, problems and scheduling.
  • Provides appropriate training for Facilities, Process and various manufacturing Technicians, while planning, organizing, and assigning tasks as necessary and providing oversight on the activities of other technicians in proper repair, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Uses advanced levels of technical and diagnostic skills to provide superior repair and maintenance services to the manufacturing and support processes.
  • Effectively mentors, guides, trains and oversees other Maintenance Technicians in the appropriate, proper and timely completion of tasks.
  • Assumes a leadership role in the procurement, installation, and commissioning and start-up operation of new equipment, including effective communication with the equipment owners, vendors and outside contractors.
  • Creates, builds and maintains effective business and professional relationships with outside vendors, suppliers and customers to continually ensure the very best services possible are provided while upholding the Company’s high standard of excellence.
  • Succeeds in developing business-partner relationships with specific vendors that supply critical support to the Company’s business.
  • Responsible for assisting the department manager modifying and maintaining OSHA required safety and health programs. Conducts periodic safety inspections/audits, and initiates action to eliminate hazards while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Maintenance Technician III assignments are often in the form of broad goals or areas of responsibility, and therefore require the position incumbent must be adept at determining the most effective/efficient course of action for success. In addition to being skilled at leading others effectively and gaining cooperation, the ability to motivate and guide individuals and groups toward achievement of goals is essential.
  • Assists the department manager in coordinating outside contracts. Assists in reviewing bids, oversees performance of contracts, and provides guidance when necessary.
  • Creates and maintains records of completed maintenance and repair work, and scheduled maintenance requirements for plant and equipment within the Company’s ERP software and other interfaces.
  • Provides analyses and long range planning/forecasting that result in continual improvement.
  • Prepares and submits periodic reports to the Facilities Manager.
  • Assists in the orientation of new employees on facilities rules/processes/safety issues.
  • Organizes, prioritizes, and ensures completion of company-wide service, fault report, and task requests, and responds to requests for emergency repairs generated by Company personnel.
  • Assists the Facilities Manager in effective administration of the departmental budget.
  • Identifies appropriate spare part inventory requirements for facility and production usage, researches and obtains competitive cost estimates for supplies, parts and equipment repair, orders supplies and maintains adequate inventory of parts. Directly communicates manufacturing department spare part inventory and requirements with the Manufacturing and Materials Managers.
  • Monitors operation of all injection molding machines and support equipment, boilers, energy management systems, heating, ventilation systems, electrical, plumbing and refrigeration/chilling systems. Ensures that all preventive maintenance procedures and repairs are carried out correctly, efficiently and according to schedule.
  • Maintains an organized, clean, and safe facility.
