Continuous Improvement Intern

JOB SUMMARY

The Continuous Improvement Intern will support and/or lead pre-defined projects connected to current business needs. The Continuous Improvement Intern will assist the Continuous Improvement and Quality team in business process improvement initiatives. Good communication skills with all levels of the organization are required.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Lean Six Sigma Teams to drive projects to completion
  • Lead Kaizen and DMAIC problem solving methodologies
  • Recognize process inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities
  • Identification and documentation of best practices to include the integration of standard work principles
  • Helps with training needs in support of new procedures and standards
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations
  • Define what methods and equipment will be used to measure key quality characteristics of a process
  • Helps the teams identify problems, prevent problems and the recurrence of problems
  • Work to improve the quality of the processes, using data collected from the operations and applying problem-solving techniques
  • Additional duties as assigned by Management

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

Education: Pursuing an Associate or Bachlor degree in Engineering, Technology or Business Administration

Experience: No experience required

PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Good communication, organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Background/ experience in quality functions a plus
  • Measurement system evaluation a plus
  • Knowledge of lean and six sigma concepts a plus
  • Must be a self-starter, someone who shows great initiative
