Job Description

We’re seeking a highly qualified Software Development Manager. Candidates should have a deep passion for leadership, collaborativeness and the qualifications to lead our core development team in a motivating and fun environment. This leader will focus on driving innovative ideas and new solutions within the team and implementing engineering best practices into the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a core team of developers and designers with a focus and passion on quality driven development capabilities and best practices.
  • Set performance expectations of team members, guide career development and mentor their success in meeting these objectives
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the developers on multiple teams within a collaborative and Agile/Scrum work environment.
  • Provide technical leadership while contributing to the innovation process of your team.
  • Keep your coding skills current to assist in the design, coding and running of systems.
  • Work closely with the Product Manager and Chief Architect to develop and implement new product features.
  • Perform code reviews, implement and understand coding standards and complexities
  • Create and foster a dynamic, collaborative and fun team environment.
  • Guide the development team in setting goals and achieving milestones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution; advanced degree preferred.
  • An advanced understanding of Object Oriented Programming.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant management and project leadership experience.
  • Understand the core concepts of agile.
  • Must have a passion for mentoring.
  • The ability to motivate a team to build products that are scalable and stable.
  • Experience working in and promoting a continuous integration environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
