Senior Product Engineer

Establish category engineering strategic goals to align with global manufacturing objectives in Beaverton, OR. Will review and analyze project goals and information to ensure accuracy, and lead project meetings within a Category Engineering division. Will review and evaluate project status with the Product Engineering team to ensure a high level of innovation for product development and establish best practices for successful manufacturing processes. Will be responsible for building product objectives and processes to manage product performance, quality, and craftsmanship. Will manage the footwear product engineering function for the category. Will act as the engineering lead working with design and marketing teams to conceptualize designs, with the goal of driving to retail and meeting consumer needs. Will apply an understanding of research and development methods to translate product and category objectives, quality goals, and athlete/consumer requirements into footwear product designs. Will apply product category best practices to identify product and testing requirements. Will also develop and implement new footwear production processes. Will be responsible for acting as the engineering consultant to support multiple functional team, including Development, Costing, Material, Global Footwear Planning, Asia Product Creation, and Offshore Manufacturing teams, to achieve profitability, efficiency and sustainability. Will assure product performance by applying product integrity verification processes through physical fit and field-testing. Will analyze and recommend materials, components, and construction options to the Product Engineering Team to meet key features and product performance goals. Will engage in all phases of the product development process to ensure that footwear products are proven and tested, completed on time, manufacturable, satisfy design intent and performance targets, and meet cost and sustainability goals. Will engage in 25 percent international and domestic travel. Will directly supervise one to two subordinates

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering Management, Footwear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Experience: 9 years of overall progressive footwear engineering experience Skills/Requirements: 8 years experience : (1) CAD / CAM / CAE, (2) footwear pattern engineering, (3) footwear manufacturing processes, (4) footwear tooling engineering, (5) footwear chemical engineering, (6) footwear automation techniques, (7) footwear industrial engineering, and (8) footwear costing engineering.
