Senior Material Developer - Nike Sportswear

As our Senior Material Developer for Nike Sportswear (NSW), you'll use your materials knowledge and collaborative skills to help create and execute a materials palette and be responsible for the on-time commercialization of resources. You'll ensure all materials are executed on-time through the commercialization process. You will also be responsible for more complex products and projects as requested by the Materials Leadership team. You'll also collaborate with our Design and Merchandising teams to create and execute a category materials palette and deliver the seasonal themes that support business goals and meet consumer's needs. You'll execute materials that fall between seasonal developments and the longer-term projects as well as commercialize key innovations.. You'll also research fabric trend and new innovations offered. In addition, you'll drive analysis and material reviews that result in gender/category materials consolidation.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferably in Apparel/Textile design
• Minimum of 5 years' material development experience or 7 years of material development experience in lieu of degree
• Advanced knowledge of material construction and properties
• Superior understanding of the design and development process from inception through final adoption
• Advanced technical materials and textile knowledge, including fibers, yarns, knit and woven fabrications, textile manufacturing, dying, finishing and the ability to partner with a materials vendor to develop a material from inception to actual production
• Knowledge of garment construction and apparel product creation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations
• Proficiency with Microsoft office applications and Product Data Management systems
• Strong information seeking-skills and a drive to make things happen
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
• Ability to network and influence internal and external resources
• Strong aesthetic sense and creativity
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends
• Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time
• CVC Fleece experience preferred
• Experience working for streetwear brands is highly desired
