Product Manager

As Product Manager with the Nike Explore Team (NXT) Sport Research Lab, you will lead the creation and implementation of software across multiple delivery teams that provides operation efficiencies and opens new capabilities to a multidisciplinary team of researchers. Our researchers are focused on conducting basic and applied sport science research aimed at delivering game-changing innovations to make our athletes* measurably better.
You will help shape and align the strategic vision of our software roadmap for our research teams in the NSRL. You will focus of the delivery of solutions to business stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will partner with Architects, Business Stakeholders, and Product Owners to create, maintain, and present the Product Vision and are responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition of the product. You will define user requirements and collaborate with Product Owners to package the features into product releases throughout the product's lifecycle.

Responsibilities

- Understand Customer Need - maintain close relationships with customers and stakeholders to understand and communicate their needs and participate in validation of the solutions
- Own the Product Backlog: gather requirements from existing and potential customers, write product Epic and Feature requirements with success criteria
- Prioritize product backlog to ensure delivery of high-value work
- Partner with architecture and external business stakeholders to determine the optimum release strategy including new features, architecture, and allocations for technical debt
- Work with Product Owners to optimize Feature delivery to the customers
- Develop, maintain, and communicate the vision to the Product Owner and collaborate to define feature delivery schedule milestones via product roadmap and backlog refinement
- Agile Management: Lead a product squad composed of multidisciplinary team members. Create and document user stories for implementation. Participate in scrum team meetings and provide advice, clarification, and guidance during the execution of each sprint. Inspect and accept completed work at the end of each sprint.
- Partner with technology partners to determine buy/build/partner-vendor delivery options
- Analyze and communicates success, productivity, time to market, quality, partner health and team engagement metrics to product stakeholders
- Provide oversight of strategy, technical, and transition management aspects and has final say on product functionality of all products in his/her portfolio
- Conduct customer satisfaction surveys/analysis to validate customer response and provide fast feedback and prioritized defect resolution and enhancements
- At Scale - prioritize Epics in the Backlog, participates in PI planning, approve PI Objectives and establishes Business Value
Skills
- Strong leadership skills as well as experience with technology to understand: what is possible given current technology and how trends will affect the product in the future
- Able to dissect complex business processes to understand where to delivery maximum value
- Has a business-orientation and ability to create a Business Case
- Responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic plans for a specific product or product family
- Ability to create strong, positive collaborative relationships with customers, stakeholders, development leads, Product Owners, architects and external partners
- Strong understanding of software building with the Agile methodology
- Strong road mapping skills and Epic/Feature - Benefit definition skills
- Understanding of scientific methodologies preferred
- Able to dissect complex business processes to understand where to delivery maximum value
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years experience in a Product Management or strategy role (e.g., Planner) or requirements development role (e.g., BSA, BA or BPM). Product Management-related certifications a plus
- Experience with software development, official Agile certification a plus, using SAFe.
- Must have strong business skills and experience; experience leading technology teams
- Strong understanding of customer needs and business strategy - Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years experience in a Product Management or strategy role (e.g., Planner) or requirements development role (e.g., BSA, BA or BPM). Product Management-related certifications a plus
- Experience with software development, official Agile certification a plus, using SAFe.
