Portfolio Manager - Footwear Materials

As Portfolio Manager for Nike Explore Team (NXT) Footwear Materials, you will be a critical part of a team that's responsible for developing and launching material innovations in collaboration with NXT Footwear Innovation, NXT Apparel Innovation, Manufacturing Innovation and Sustainable Business & Innovation (SB&I) personnel. You'll serve as a critical liaison between material project leaders/teammates and a multitude of functional partners such as Intellectual Property (IP) Transactions & Patents, Business Development, Innovation Communications, Finance, Innovation Strategy, Innovation Impact, Innovation Planning, NXT Business Operations, NXT Project Director, Chemical Engineering, Procurement, Material Development and Category personnel. The Portfolio Manager will have responsibility for shepherding a portfolio of programs/headcount/discretionary budget through the subsequent phases of the NXT Footwear Innovation offense.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Business Case Development: Understand key business drivers and work with both internal partners (Procurement, Cost Engineering, SB&I, etc.) and external partners to build business cases to assist with resource allocation, prioritization and program buy-in for each program
- Project Management: Responsible for quarterly management of milestones, critical issues, action plans and functional/NXT stakeholders to drive programs with an emphasis on speed
- Stakeholder Management: Facilitate cross-functional, end-to-end alignment for key programs with internal partners
- Strategic Business Partnership Facilitation: Work with NXT Footwear Materials Directors to coordinate strategic partnership business reviews and assist in vetting potential new partners
- Budget Management: Partner with NXT Finance team to provide 'bottom-up' budget forecasts and budget updates ensuring project leads are in line with forecast
- Problem solving: Identify the operational and organizational challenges that the programs will encounter at various phases and work with the appropriate leadership and stakeholders to resolve
- Storytelling: Work with project leads to assist in storytelling technically complex projects across NXT, the greater business, and various strategic business partners
- Operational Support: Partner with Sr. Portfolio Manager to provide ad hoc project support and analytics as needed


Qualifications
Bachelors' degree in Business, Science, Engineering or a related field or two additional years of job-related experience in lieu of a degree
Strong attention to detail, proven ability to organize, prioritize and deliver outcomes
Capable of synthesizing and representing complex information into clear, refined messages
Experience with project management methodology
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across various levels of the Nike matrix
High level of skill utilizing MS PowerPoint
Budget and cost management experience
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with varying levels of intermittent ambiguity
Ability to handle confidential matters in a professional manner
Ability to work effectively on a team
Material or Technical background, a plus Bachelors' degree in Business, Science, Engineering or a related field or two additional years of job-related experience in lieu of a degree
