Manager, North America Customer Finance - Credit & Risk

As a Manager of NIKE's North America Customer Finance Credit & Risk, within the Commercial Finance function, you will be a key member of the team, working closely with our wholesale partners to deliver mutually beneficial solutions. Your high-level communication, financial analysis, negotiation, influencing, leadership and coaching skills will be utilized to guide the management of specific accounts on the NIKE and Converse portfolios.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Be the leader of a team of analysts, focused on managing the accounts receivable and delivering mutually beneficial solutions for a select group of wholesale partners.
  • Be a strategic partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Commerce, Finance, Legal and Supply Chain Operations), developing strong business relationships.
  • Be a creative thinker, promoting the development and use of tools and processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead, coach, drive and inspire your team of analysts, balancing day-to-day business execution with the transformative work of implementing new processes, controls, tools, etc. into the organization construct.
  • Be a leader within the North America Commercial Finance function, collaborating with fellow managers and actively offering suggestions to achieve team-success, taking the initiative to get things done, while practicing using LEAN tools and methodologies, and following through on commitments.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance or similar area; Master's degree is highly beneficial.
  • Experience: 5+ years experience in commercial credit and collections, financial analysis; additional experience working in the retail sector is highly preferred. Commercial bankruptcy experience a plus.
  • Financial Analysis Skills: Excellent financial analysis skills including in-depth financial statement analysis, experience working with challenging credit scenarios as well as the ability to land and "tell the story" of the results with clarity and confidence to an executive audience.
  • Relationship Management Skills: Proven ability to develop and maintain high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions and layers.
  • Customer Management Skills: Direct experience in navigating the professional balancing act between vendor and customer requirements, challenges, and opportunities, with an eye to win-win solutions.
  • High-Profile Communication and Influencing Skills: Demonstrated adeptness with high-profile communication. Skills include excellent verbal and written communication of complex and/or controversial topics and concepts; meeting facilitation; effective communication on status, issues, risks, and opportunities.
  • Legal Aptitude: General knowledge of legal implications of Credit and Accounts Receivable management, up to and including bankruptcy proceedings, is preferred. Capacity and inclination to partner with legal counterparts is required.
  • Retail Acumen: Understanding of the retail business model, including an understanding of today's shifting North America retail landscape and the implications thereof to retail business models and their future financial performance.
  • Team Management Skills: Proven experience building, inspiring and managing high-performing teams.
  • Systems Experience: Exposure to ERP finance systems such as SAP, FSCM, Biller Direct, Customer Portal functions, etc. is desirable. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are necessary.
  • Travel Availability: Ability to travel up to 5% of time to meet with customers and to represent Nike in legal proceedings (e.g. bankruptcy committees).
  • Background Check: Ability to pass a 7-year background check.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance or similar area; Master's degree is highly beneficial.
