Distributors Communications Manager

As our Communications Manager, you will lead and set the vision for the Distributors region (Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe), in partnership with functional and brand marketing counterparts across key categories (Football, Women's, Running, NSW, Basketball). The role focuses on the Middle East and you will need to work closely with Nike's Distributors to develop plans that achieve business and brand objectives. You will be a key member and the main cultural expert of the Nike marketing team.

Strategic vision & strategy



  • Set the strategic vision, communications strategy and story focus to position Nike as the leading sport lifestyle brand in the Middle East, Africa and Eastern European Distributor markets.
  • Serve the youth of the cities and drive both hyper local and city impact storytelling through our performance innovation and style storytelling.
  • Deliver seasonal plans that will drive awareness, inspiration and support the category plans

Corporate communications & issues management:

  • Set the strategic role of communications within the business for the local leadership team and lead issues management.
  • Work closely with corporate, internal and category teams to drive innovation storytelling, and manage and elevate key issues with senior leadership and the EMEA team.


Stakeholder management

  • Ensure key relationships with stakeholders (internal and external) are in place to best manage issues as and when they arise. Build and drive a strong relationship with EAST and EMEA communications team within the Nike organizational structure.



Creative & digital mindset & storytelling


  • Drive creative, mobile first solutions and platforms to take our storytelling to new and unexpected places that connect with our consumer.
  • Be a social and media newsmaker and have strong, creative ideas that can elevate storytelling in key cities in the region and beyond.
  • Be an instigator and driver of relentless and aggressive media and influencer relations programs to build further scope and scale of our storytelling .





Other Requirements:

  • The job requires travel so the candidate must be flexible to travel.
  • Proven experience and ability to manage multiple projects at one time effectively.
  • Combine creativity with strong organizational skills.
  • A passion for the Nike brand, sport and lifestyle and sneakers culture.
  • Culturally aware & ability to identify trends especially within the Middle East media/influencers/consumer area.
  • An ability to influence and collaborate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with events planning
  • Strong media relations capabilities
  • Solid writing skills

Minimum requirements:

  • At least 10 years experience working in Communications roles or Media/Creative agency connected with lifestyle/sport/fashion industry.
  • Proven lifestyle, style and fashion media & influencer contacts are essential for this role (across all media channels meaning print, broadcast, digital & social, independent publishers)
  • Fluent in Arabic and English, written and verbal
