Director Workplace Technology (Employee Campus Experience)

Expectations for how employees interact with their physical surroundings are rapidly evolving. Technology is allowing employees to be more mobile. With that comes new challenges in the form of staying connected with fellow employees and partners from anywhere; finding people and places; having access to critical services (What is the closest deli and what is the menu? What time is yoga class? How do I schedule a taxi?), etc.

The Nike global portfolio includes 250+ sites and 29+ million square feet of space supporting 37,000+ employees. The Director of Workplace Technology is accountable for making Nike's physical working space "smarter" - marrying the latest advancements in workspace techology with the needs of the Nike employee in their physical surroundings. This includes A) creating a vision for a seamlessly integrated environment that leverages new technological capabilities designed to maximize employee productivity, satisfaction, and retention; and B) partnering with stakeholders inside and outside of the Nike Technology organization to execute, deliver, and measure globally.

The successful candidate will:

• Have a strong technical background.
• Be an expert in workplace technology.
• Have a proven track record driving increased employee productivity, satisfaction, and retention.
• Have successful history of implementing industry-leading, best-of-breed technologies in a large enterprise while maintaining a sharp focus on improving employee experience.
• Be accountable for defining global workplace technology standards after thorough process of understanding prioritized business requirements and desired employee experiences.
• Be an excellent team player - have a proven track record partnering with and influencing peers and senior executives in order to operationalize a strategy.
• Have proven history of effective, respectful and inclusive leadership.
• Be comfortable providing a high-level technical design, strategy roadmap development and technical architecture for projects and/or programs.
• Have history of proven collaboration: be able to create tight partnership with all stakeholders; derive at long-term vision in collaboration with stakeholders; ensure best practices for leveraging key technologies are shared across the organization.
• Be able to assess the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.
• Need to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully managing large technology project-portfolios in a product-driven environment and accountability of deadlines and value propositions.
• Have experience managing project budgets and scope, and can conduct resource planning for risks that are proactively identified.
• Support and cultivate Nike's Maxims.
• This role reports to the Senior Director of Employee Enablement in the Nike Technology Global TechOps organization.


Qualifications
• Degree in Business, Computer Science or a related field
• MBA preferred
• 10 years business, IT or related experience
• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to gather relevant data and information, actively listen, dialogue freely, verbalize ideas effectively, negotiate tense situations successfully, and manage and resolve conflict.
• Proven presentation and facilitation skills.
• Demonstrated expertise of building a consensus across business partners and technology leaders, and influencing successful outcomes.
• Must excel working in team-oriented roles that rely on ability to collaborate with others.
• Experience working successfully in a highly matrixed work environment.
• 8 years enterprise, business or solutions architecture experience
• Expert-level understanding of business process re-engineering or process improvement
• Ability to develop or improve strategic processes
• Ability to consult, transfer knowledge and act as a resource for the resolution of unique opportunities
• Ability to partner with and influence key stakeholders and architects throughout Nike
• Expert level knowledge in governances and best practices for enterprise architecture strategies and roadmaps
• Ability to communicate technical information to and influence a wide and varied audience, from your team of experienced architects through executives
• Proven people-management experience.
• Ability to pass a 7-year background investigation
