Director, Product Management, Advanced Analytics & Machine Learning - Nike Technology

As Director, Product Management, Advanced Analytics & Machine Learning you will be a key leader and part of a growing that is integral to envisioning and building the capabilities needed that allows us to serve the consumer faster and more personally, at scale. This role, in conjunction with our business partners will help accelerate our greatest opportunities and put decision-making closer to the consumer, across Nike, so we can move at the speed of the marketplace. This highly visible team will work across the Nike business building elegant and scalable data solutions and evangelizing the adoption of Advance Analytics, Machine learning and Data Science deep into the Nike culture.

The ideal candidate will combine demonstrated product owernship experience with expert Data Science, AI/ML/Open Source/Tech knowledge and outstanding business skills (revenue/cost drivers, supply chain, planning, customer experience, customer journey, communication, etc.) to manage the vision, roadmap, priorities and requirements to enable Nike to deliver complex/critical machine learning and AI projects driving significant unlocks across Nike.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Operate as a thought leader and visionary, with the ability to guide, influence and inspire peak performance, innovation and adoption of technology solutions across the Nike value chain.
  • Deeply understand the biggest areas of opportunity for the application of Data Science and Machine learning and develop solutions (products, engines and services) value propositions, positioning, and messaging that are differentiated, clear, defensible and impactful to the Nike business
  • Proactively Identify and Translate complex and loosely defined business requirements into clear product vision broken down into clearly defined and executable pieces enabling engineers to operate at speed
  • Guide and inspire other product teams and business partners across Nike in data science, advanced analytics and ML best practices, and evangelize strategic use of data and engines throughout the business
  • Continually looking at the Nike value chain and external environment to challenge our assumptions around new sources of data, applications of advanced analytics, machine learning, tools, talent, partners, etc
  • Partner across other Data Science and Advanced analytics teams at Nike to help accelerate and build upon a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Through a product management lens, enable Nike enterprise efforts to bring in new DS technologies, frameworks and methodologies at scale

  • Creating innovative advanced data products, algorithms and solutions, using the most recent technologies
  • Evangelism of technology & data/analytics capabilities with business executives to solve their toughest challenges
  • Defining, managing and building complex data Products

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in data and analytics engineering, data science, advanced analytics, data science or data product owner roles
  • Hands on product management experience enabling engineering teams to develop, scale and implement machine learning algorithms (regression, support vector machines, decision trees, random forest, clustering, etc.), using relevant programming languages, and big data tools.
  • Working knowledge of advanced ML techniques (neural networks/deep learning, reinforcement learning, SVM, PCA, etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with software development and deployment in cloud environments of advanced analytics and Data Science Models
  • Experience with self-improving software systems leveraging machine learning techniques and technology at scale
  • Strong consultative skills to establish relationships across the broader Nike organization
  • Comfort communicating and interacting with engineers & data scientists, as well as understanding and translating the science of analytics to a more general audience
  • Desire to "roll up the sleeves" and get into the heart of the business
  • Demonstrable ability to work across a global matrix and ability to put strong communication, leadership and influencing skills to work to be successful
