Software Development Intern


NFP is looking for motivated and qualified interns to join its Austin-based application engineering team as software developers. This will be a real working internship where you’ll be embedded within our team, developing and integrating new web and mobile-friendly data-driven enterprise software solutions for our clients, financial advisors, producers, and our operational and administrative partners in the home office. You will get a chance to experience first-hand how we receive and digest requirements from internal and external customers, iterate on design, develop, test, and ultimately launch enterprise software for the financial services industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Development work across the full-stack – from database level and data integration, to middleware/services, to responsive web applications. Your skill-sets, interest, and aptitudes would guide you towards one or all of those areas.
  • Collaborate with a local and global technical team working together in an Agile-like SDLC and learn all of the software engineering, processes, and best practices that help make projects succeed with quality on that scale.
  • Your hands-on experience at NFP will contain some shadowing and observing – but will primarily be comprised of time spent doing the real work of software development.
