RN, FMLA Specialty Consultant

NFP, a growing employee benefits consulting and brokerage firm and recipient of The Philadelphia Business Journal’s Best Place to Work for the past seven consecutive years, is seeking a leave of absence consultant to provide leave of absence advice for our client(s) who internally administer leave of absence policies.

Responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Determining FMLA appropriateness
  • Providing Personal Medical Leave durational guidance
  • Providing Short-Term Disability durational advice-to-pay

Candidates must have EXCELLENT…
  • Knowledge and understanding of FMLA
  • Client management skills, as this role requires the direct interaction with 400+ different HR personnel who have varying levels of FMLA knowledge
  • Project management, time management, multitasking and organizational skills needed to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Decision making skills
  • Electronic organizational skills
  • Personal computer skills, Microsoft Office experience, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Internet Research
  • Communication skills, both oral and written
  • Work skills, both independent and as part of a team

Education and experience requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, college or university with a current RN preferred licensure; BSN preferred
  • Previous experience in determining serious health conditions under FMLA is a plus
  • Disability management, utilization management and/or case management experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with The Medical Disability Advisor: Workplace Guidelines for Disability Duration is a plus
