Business Intelligence & Optimization Analyst

The Analyst, International for the Business Intelligence & Optimization department at the NFL will be responsible for providing key metrics and insights across all digital social media platforms for key International regions to multiple stakeholders enabling timely and informed business decisions with the goals of increasing reach, engagement, monetization, and fan awareness of key International initiatives. Responsibilities will involve social analytics reporting and analyses including web and mobile data, media research/benchmarking, suggestions for testing editorial content, marketing KPI’s, and voice of the fan.

The main activity of this position will be devoted to support the International team in the capacity of helping to establish success metrics for activations including digital and social platform data. This will include collaborating with the International team on the essential metrics of success. The candidate will follow campaigns through deployment, providing insights on optimization based on goals established. When campaigns conclude, a post-mortem analysis will be completed, the learnings from which will be distributed and advocated for throughout the organization. The Analyst will be a highly-motivated, results-oriented contributor to an exceptional team. They will have a strong passion for digital and social media. The position will report directly to TBD.


  • Support reporting flow for NFL International digital and social
  • Analyze, disseminate and present trends to senior management and platform stakeholders
  • Execute competitive analysis and benchmark NFL properties against competitors within the sports and other entertainment verticals
  • Manage Social Media ad hoc and weekly reporting across all NFL Social touchpoints (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat, etc)
  • Manage NFL Int’l Digital product ad hoc and weekly reporting across all platforms (NFL.com, m.nfl.com, Fantasy, NFL Mobile, Madden Mobile, etc)
  • Manage and track all fan growth metrics across key territories
  • Support analysis of TV consumption figures provided by NFL Int’l ratings agency (Futures) and integrate into overall reporting templates / insights
  • Maintain relationships with analytics vendors and platform analytics contacts
  • Identify content testing strategy and implement reporting on testing across social media platforms
  • Surface key insights and learning to inform content optimization
  • Improve and enhance NFL International dashboards and visualization of key metrics
  • Research and develop new reporting tools/applications to drive to improved reporting and reduce cost
  • Collaborate with other analytics partners to give a cross-platform view of social impact on the NFL
  • Monitor social trends across the internet at large
  • Be willing to work tent-pole events to provide analytics in a real time capacity

Experience Desired:

  • Some understanding and experience with enterprise analytics tools (e.g. Omniture Suite, ComScore Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Great writing/story telling skills
  • Some understanding and experience with social measurement tools (Twitter Analytics, Facebook Insights, Spredfast Intelligence, Zuum, CrowdTangle, Crimson Hexagon, etc.)
  • Experience working with professional business units such as Business Development, Ad Sales and Executive audiences
  • Data driven professional who makes decisions based on empirical evidence and can persuade others to do the same
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills
  • Entrepreneurial, smart and passionate
  • 1+ years of experience in digital and social media analytics
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and time management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and adapt to continually changing priorities and aggressive project timeframes
  • Outstanding verbal/written communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • BA/BS is required
  • Passionate sports-fan, extremely knowledgeable about football
