Software Implementation Manager

Nexus Systems, located in Falls Church, Virginia, is the leading provider of electronic solutions that automate the traditionally cumbersome paper-intensive AP process. Nexus Systems greatly aids financial management by automating the payables process through scanning, electronic approval routing and PO/Invoice management. Nexus’ product, NexusPayables, enjoys continued success as a result of its functionality, reporting, user-friendly configurations, and ease of use for clients.

Nexus Systems, LLC is looking to fill a Software Implementation Manager position. As a member of the Professional Services Team, this person’s primary responsibility is managing the implementation of NexusPayables product for new clients throughout the entire implementation lifecycle. A typical implementation lifecycle includes: internal and external project kick-offs, data collection, review and analysis of client’s business process, integration testing, demos to key stakeholders, training and deployment support.


  • Act as main point of contact for new clients; transition relationship from Sales to Client Services 
  • Ensure client satisfaction of project implementation 
  • Manage expectations of client and scope of project 
  • Develop project plans and manage both client and company timelines for project and promised deliverables 
  • Review, analyze, and validate data and configuration requirements provided by clients 
  • Coordinate with Sales and Software Development as needed for deliverables and custom requests, as needed 
  • Use NexusPayables setup tools to configure the system for new clients 
  • Create test plans and participate in testing of configured system for new client deployments 
  • Daily and weekly communication with new clients; including, internal and external status reports 
  • Identify, track and resolve issues 
  • Travel to client site for implementation meetings and system training 
  • Participate in QA of new product releases 
  • Special projects as necessary 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements: 

  • Minimum 5 years project management or software application implementation experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Ability to interact successfully with multiple levels of staff within a client company 
  • Must work well under deadlines 
  • Ability to travel as needed 
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized and able to work independently to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrated process improvement skills and orientation 

Preferred skills: 

  • Experience as a Project Manager for a software or accounting consulting company
  • Experience with JD Edwards, Intuit Real Estate Solutions (MRI), Yardi or other large G/L or ERP applications 
  • Knowledge of basic accounting 
  • PMI Certification
