Manager, Nexus Payments

Nexus Systems is seeking an intellectually curious Manager, Nexus Payments that will participate in the strategy, launch and execution of a new business division that will quickly scale to more than $50M+ a year in top line revenue. In this role, the candidate will run all day-to-day program activity, working collaboratively with the Payments team, cross functional Nexus departments, and Nexus executives to ensure our payments initiative is on track against all key program measures (operational, financial and control).

General Responsibilities

  • Ensure alignment and successful execution of payments strategy & planning initiatives across the Nexus organization
  • Devise frameworks/processes/plans to drive strategy & scale the payments solution
  • Coordinate deliverables across multiple functions
  • Lead and consult on complex project issues across multiple teams, as necessary

Specific Responsibilities

Sales & Marketing:

  • Monitor industry payment trends
  • Continuous study to identify new threats and opportunities within the market
  • Facilitate business development and integration relationships that support the strategy
  • Gather and prioritize payments requirements for the Product Team
  • Identify marketing tools that promote payments such as blogs, speaking opportunities, network events, etc.
  • Support sales, marketing and CSM teams to onboard new payments customers


  • Create and implement policies and procedures in a cross-departmental environment as the core payments infrastructure is built out
  • Use industry best practices to provide continuous operational efficiencies
  • Ensure that all processes and systems are data backed and driven
  • Work with Governance & Risk to monitor legal, regulatory requirements, and changes
  • Facilitate organizational design and talent plan for the Payments Team
  • Ensure the best in-class experience for applicants and hires by collaborating with Human Resources

Project Management & Support:

  • Responsible for the coordination and production of KPIs, presentations, stakeholder updates and other planning/governance-related reporting deliverables
  • Coordinate development of materials for various payments meetings, as needed
  • Support the Payments Team's communications to internal and external customers


  • In coordination with the Finance Department, facilitate the payments financial FP&A efforts as well as the budgeting, forecasting, pricing and scenario modelling
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department to develop customer reporting and billing procedures


  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably MBA or other relevant advanced degree
  • 2+ years of strategic or operational consulting, preferably from a global firm
  • 2+ years of program or product management experience, preferably at a fast-growing technology company
  • Self-starter with confidence to own and manage critical processes for the team
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, inspire and influence large cross-functional teams and senior leaders
  • Excellent, oral, written and analytical skills to size and communicate opportunities, assess ricks, results and customer impacts
  • Proven organizational, process management and ability to convert strategy into actionable tactics – that "influence without authority" across multiple team initiatives and senior leaders
  • Knowledge of financial controls and a broad understanding of business drivers and strategies
  • Demonstrated passion for digital products/emerging technology and how they will impact the consumer experience
  • Must have experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Fintech experience a plus
