Sales Manager - National/Regional Brands

Nextdoor is the private social network being actively used in more than 60% of all U.S. neighborhoods. We have recently begun to connect neighbors with local businesses - from the nearby Home Depot, to a local plumber, to a regional internet provider. Another exciting new venture for us was launching sponsored posts, a native form of advertising that lets businesses reach entire neighborhoods. 

We are looking for a strategic sales manager to lead and expand the sales of sponsored posts to regional and national partners. To be successful in this role, you need to have a deep understanding of brand storytelling, experience with social and native advertising and an extensive network of established relationships with national and regional brands. You are ambitious and thrive in a startup environment, with a demonstrated ability to build detailed sales and revenue generation plans, while also being able to roll up your sleeves and execute tactically.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop integrated brand campaigns that clearly achieve brand objectives while staying true to the Nextdoor brand and community
  • Strategically build detailed sales and revenue generation plans for the US and consistently meet or exceed revenue quotas
  • Effectively manage client expectations and work with ad operations team to ensure successful campaign delivery
  • Provide thoughtful feedback to internal marketing, product and engineering teams to drive product innovation
  • Aggressively pursue new prospects and sales opportunities
  • Manage a robust pipeline and accurately forecast new business

Requirements, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced sales, communication and presentation skills
  • Deep understanding and experience with social and native advertising
  • Successful track record of developing strategic relationships with marketers and brands, with an active client list of large national and regional brands
  • Strong understanding of branding, brand storytelling and marketing campaigns aimed at brand awareness and brand perception
  • Established relationships with top marketing decision-makers at leading brands and advertising agencies, selling digital advertising and content marketing
  • Creative self-starter with the proven ability to handle business goals and objectives while consistently meeting objectives in a dynamic and seamless fashion
  • Ability to work with a range of people at all decision-making levels
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in advertising sales, marketing and online advertising
