Role Summary 

A Solution Engineer will transform conceptual architecture into detailed technical requirements implement within the development team. A good foundational knowledge of the financial / banking / insurance domain will be required to facilitate the delivery of a solution. Best practices and policies are part of the duties to ensure corporate and local governance is adhered. Partner with the architecture team during the conceptual design, roadmap construction and adoption of policy. 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Transform conceptual architecture into detail design documents 

Design technology solutions for specific projects in collaboration with domain architect and business analyst 

Ensure standards and guidelines defined by domain architecture and enterprise architecture is adopted. 

Facilitates solution design discussions 

Participates as a member of the project team to ensure optimal design solution is understood and implement. 

Responsible for ensuring recommended solution is followed during implementation. 

Provides technical guidance to project teams in their area of expertise and/or leads team to complete the project. 

Responsible for logical and physical design structures 

Participates in evaluating new technologies, business planning, and technology roadmaps relevant to the domain 

Creates and maintains project design artifacts to capture current state. 

Represents project teams at architecture, security and financial control review boards. 

Experience 

6+ years of relevant experience working as a practitioner engineer 

Required Skills / Knowledge 

 

Advanced level of expertise to document solutions and take a project to completion. 

Knowledge of variant documentation techniques in Conceptual Diagrams, Logical Diagrams, Use-Case Diagrams, Data Entity Diagrams. UML and Class Diagrams. 

6 + years of relevant experience in a technical software engineer or technical integrator position. 

Strong experience one or more of the following: JAVA, HTML, XML, CSS, SAML with various integration patterns (Web Services, Messaging (MQ), Database Links, File Transfers) as well as some experience with mainframe applications and technologies preferre 

Strong Java, Database (Oracle/MSSQL/NOSQL) experience 

Exposure to Mainframe Technology and Cloud experience would be a plus 

General knowledge of tool sets related to Semantic Layers, ETL, Business Intelligence, Profilers, Change Data Capture Techniques and Batch Processing 

Excellent communication skills to a wide range of audiences. 

Proficient in development abilities related Oracle 

SQL and PLSQL Knowledgeable 

Proven understanding of SDLC 

Financial Service back ground is desired 

Nice to have general knowledge of concepts in Service oriented architecture 

Education 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a closely related discipline required
