This position will lead functions for systems of the NYL Direct's Insurance Operations and Services (IOS) unit (New Business, Underwriting, Premium Accounting, Claims, Facilities and Mail) by providing programming changes for FINEOS Claims processing. Support Captiva document processing. Support IBML Imaging Systems software and hardware administration and development. Support Fairfax Quick Module remittance system and software development. Vendor support for Fineos Claims processing changes and initiating and monitoring vendor relationships. Perform project management and quality assurance roles. Other system support including, but not limited to, Captricity and Process Flow.

  • Maintain, administer, troubleshoot, and code for the FINEOS Claims Processing system
  • Support and administer Fairfax Quick Modules, and Captiva
  • Administer the Softrac Capture Suite by IBML to support NYL Direct's imaging solutions throughout the NYL Direct operation
  • Initiate and maintain vendor relationships, including RFP, contracting, system requirements, and compliance related documentation
  • Perform quality assurance on all IOS Technical Services applications in the model environment
  • Work with the Change Request Management System (CRMS) and represent IOS at the Change Review meetings
  • Utilize JIRA to support weekly work and agile software development methodology
  • Participates in user story, development and test case creation
  • Provide status reports on current development or quality testing efforts
  • Coordinate UAT efforts with other business partners
  • Provide demonstrations to business partners, if needed
  • Escalate issues to Department Head
  • Work to provide consensus with project team on decisions impacting project scheduled and scope
  • Create reports and analyze results to provide insight to upper management for decision making


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 10+ years related experience
  • In depth knowledge of the FINEOS Claims Processing System
  • Knowledgeable in Captiva, IBML, Fairfax Quick Modules
  • Knowledgeable about IOS business practices and existing systems
  • Ability to work directly with business partners and the agile team to provide the best solutions to system issues and to maximize productivity
  • Experience with agile framework
  • Experience with Microsoft tools
  • Knowledge of the various IOS businesses, systems and applications
  • Understanding the deployment process and the impact on other business partners
  • Ability to make recommendations to agile teams based on value added ideas and concepts
  • Ability to prioritize enhancement requests based on business value and identify MBIs to deliver that value
  • Experience initiating and maintaining vendor relationships, including RFP, contracting, provisioning, and system requirement documentation
  • Ability to work with other business partners to ensure development of software to meet project requirements and business need
  • Ability to make recommendation of additional tools, training, or best practices
  • Capable of ensure proper controls for all workflow systems and financial transactions
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency in an aggressive, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to research and develop new technical workflows and make recommendations for the improvement of existing processes to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues and make solution recommendations
  • Ability to lead meetings and maintain open communication as Project Manager on assigned technology solutions including technical writing
  • Experience with model testing concepts, SQL Server Management Studio or related query language/tools
  • Program management experience
  • Knowledge of Life Insurance terminology and concepts
  • Understanding of Business Process Management (BPM)
