A Test Automation Engineer is a member of an Agile Development team with the primary focus to create and modify automated test scripts (Selenium C# ) based on manual test cases, functional requirements or existing functionality of the system. These automated tests are to be developed in keeping with the established automation framework. Analyze test results and report any issues or defects found to the responsible Agile QA, development or business unit. Effectively communicate with Test Automation Lead, Manager team members. The role of the Automation Engineer is to build scripts that will increase the coverage of QA’s manual and regression testing while making the scripts re-useable. Test Automation Engineer will develop and contribute to the automation strategy/effort and generate scripts to perform automated testing cycles using Selenium ( C# /.NET Framework)
Design/automate test flows within a hybrid keyword/data-driven framework
Work to enhance automation frameworks to support more efficient testing
Work to develop metrics and keep senior management aware of potential quality risks
Develop data strategies to support on-going test efforts
Understands and can identify key business processes within the project
Performs risk assessment and applies test strategies and techniques to reduce risk without compromising quality of the deliverables.
Executes tests scripts for smoke testing and regression testing for maintenance/project releases
Analyzes manual test cases and functional specifications to evaluate for potential automation
Analyzes test results to report defects and issues found during test run
Documents scripts with comments to provide insight to test logic
Provides estimates and status updates on automation scripts
Interactively participate in Scrum ceremonies (release planning, sprint kick off, sprint review, retrospectives, code reviews and scrum meetings)
BS or BA degree preferred
Experience with HP Products (Quality Center, QTP, UFT)
Experience with Selenium C# .NET Framework
5+ years of relevant technical automation experience.
Experience in database testing in Microsoft SQL Server / DB2 environments including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procedures, jobs, triggers and replication
Experience with Web Services
Experience working with Vendors / Third Parties
Experience working in an Agile environment
Knowledge with AS400 is a plus
Knowledge with GIT/Bitbucket
Knowledge of Bamboo a plus
