Sales Manager, Private Events
Reports To: Global Director, Strategic Relationships
Job Summary: Sales Manager, Private Events is critical to the NeueHouse Private Events Department. This person is responsible for supporting the Global Director, Strategic Relationships in increasing sales and building strong long-term relationships. This person will manage the pre-production and coordination process of brand experiences, corporate partners and sponsored events. The Sales Manager will assist in creating proposals, negotiating contracts with clients, guiding clients on event format and liaise directly with clients on their event needs. The Senior Manager will be responsible for communicating all event info & needs to the internal NeueHouse teams. This person will also participate in identifying new relationships and opportunities. Under the direction of the Global Director, this role is key in successfully booking and executing a high volume of private events at the highest possible quality.
Specific Duties: Events & Sales Manager responsibilities:
Support Global Director with business development and new business outreach
Participate in client walk-throughs and client meetings for events and projects
Create proposals and negotiate with clients, under the direction of the Global Director
Finalize contractual paperwork with clients
Guide clients, sponsors and partners through NH branding guidelines
Work closely with programming and marketing to keep the events calendar up-to date at all times
Manage event calendars and dates to maximize potential revenue
Weekly e-mail updates to exec team, outlining coming week’s events
Event Management pre-production:
Communicate client needs and event outline with event managers
Ensure that coordination team is producing all facets of event per client requests, including:
Event folders and paperwork
Run of Show
Conference Room/Alternate space needs
Floor plans for the events.
Updating and maintaining event function sheets
Liaise with 3rd party vendors (A/V, Florals, rental company etc…) to manage all event needs.
Keeping all relevant NeueHouse departments informed of event details and changes.
Day of Manager Responsibilities:
Meet & greet client and partners
Overseeing proper set up of the space
Managing the run of show and flow of event
On site point or assigned events, as needed and open/close as needed/scheduled
May be responsible for any other events/catering-related tasks when deemed necessary by managers.
Responsible to tracking costs of events and informing finance department
Responsible for keeping events within desired profit margins
Being comfortable in conversing with clients, members, guests and potential members regarding NeueHouse events and our various programs, pricing structure and amenities Must always be a positive and articulate ambassador of the NeueHouse project/brand
Take ownership for their events and see the process through from start to finish
Understanding of the monthly and overall budget
Strategic thinking with clients, budget and calendars
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and learn quickly
Organized with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to take independent initiative, as well as work as a team
Excellent time management skills and ability to work at a high speed
Understanding of budgets
