What You’ll Do:

  • Draft and negotiate complex commercial contracts (sales and services agreements, data processing agreements, and ancillary documents) with enterprise customers
  • Lead customer-facing legal negotiations in partnership with the Sales, Privacy, Finance and Product teams
  • Develop and contribute to templates, forms, and playbooks to improve collaboration, and support enablement of the Sales team
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on procurement contracts to internal stakeholders
  • Take on additional matters as needed, including supply and channel partnerships, feature licensing, and inbound license agreements
  • Work collaboratively and develop positive relationships with business stakeholders to strengthen the connection between our team and the business - under tight deadlines, and while managing multiple priorities.
  • Contribute positively to the culture of the Navan Legal team and the company as a whole

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified lawyer in your practice jurisdiction
  • 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
  • Significant experience negotiating complex commercial agreements with Fortune 500 companies, preferably at a SaaS or other technology company 
  • Understanding of  GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other privacy laws relevant to SaaS strongly preferred
  • Provide pragmatic, business-minded guidance on customer and contract-related issues.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and fintech contracting strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills are absolutely essential; you should be comfortable, confident, friendly, and capable of explaining complicated issues at the right level of detail for the audience
  • Strong understanding of software, cloud services and generative AI, associated business models, and technology industry trends.
  • Commitment to client service, with high emotional intelligence and the ability to perform well under pressure
