IT Project Manager

MWH Constructors is seeking an IT Project Manager to support construction project work. This position is located in Broomfield, CO.

MWH Constructors is the construction arm of MWH, now part of Stantec, and is a licensed, bonded general contractor, performing all of the Company’s at-risk construction and design-build projects, with a strong focus on wet infrastructure. MWH provides construction management-at-risk, construction management-as-agent, design-build and general contracting services for water and wastewater facilities, government buildings, environmental remediation, produced water and other projects that fall within our core competencies. Beginning with pre-construction services, we provide individually tailored ““start to finish” construction capabilities to municipal, federal and industrial clients throughout the United States and the United Kingdom, including commissioning and start up services with licensed operators.

Purpose of role:

Lead the project management effort of a new ERP solution implementation. The IT Project Manager is accountable for the success of all projects under their supervision. IT Project Manager plans, executes, and delivers all projects on time, on budget, and within scope in accordance with business priorities. Throughout the lifecycle of each project, the manager tracks project status and manages the project team to mitigate issues and risks. Subsequent to the implementation this individual is expected to transition into a full time role supporting the ERP from a business analyst, project manager, and customer support perspective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and create project plans for project, portfolio, and product prioritization and implementation
  • Evaluate trade-offs between project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value
  • Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria
  • Build, lead, and coach project team throughout project lifecycles
  • Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projects
  • Maintain a risk register and ensure that all risks are identified, tracked, and have mitigation plans in place
  • Ensure all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the company
  • Continually update relevant business stakeholder of project status
  • Ensure all projects meet success parameters and ROI targets stated in business case
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with the business / partners (internal/external) in a matrix management environment
  • Maintain processes to ensure business requirements are documented, communicated, understandable, and usable by all stakeholders involved in project delivery
  • Ensure delivered business solutions adhere to the IT guidelines and governance processes
  • Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role
  • Develop and manage a requirements traceability matrix
  • Elevate issues to executive stakeholders
  • Provide technical oversight for complex configuration and custom development tasks
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships — understand and enforce service level agreements, security protocols and other business interfaces Qualifications • Bachelors in Information Technology or equivalent degree.
  • 8+ years of relevant IT experience
  • Excellent project management, organization, and team collaboration skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment
  • Comfort with ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability
  • Strong team leadership skills
  • Strong knowledge of business objectives
  • Proficient with the Project Management Tools (Visio, MS Project, etc.)
  • In depth understanding of project management concepts
  • Assertive, adaptable, and creative
  • LI-JC1 Preferred Specifications • PMI/PMP certification or equivalent preferred
  • ERP Implementation experience
  • CMiC, Viewpoint or other Construction-specific ERP experience
  • Experience in both traditional (waterfall) and agile software configuration and development lifecycles
